A key objective of our supplier diversity program is to maximize opportunities for diverse businesses

About Bechtel’s Diverse Business Program

At Bechtel, we recognize the value that a diverse supply chain system brings to our business. Although we are structured around global businesses that serve a broad spectrum of industries, we all share a common supplier diversity goal: to maximize opportunities for diverse businesses. The term supplier diversity includes small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, and HUB Zone small businesses. This also includes Minority Business Enterprises and Women Business Enterprises.

Over the years, we have found that working with a diverse cadre of suppliers and subcontractors strengthens our ability to deliver quality projects, enhances the capabilities of the diverse business community, and fosters a healthy business environment.

Many of our project’s subcontract with diverse businesses and work with their customers to set diverse business goals to achieve. We believe that promoting diversity is good for the economy and the communities where we work and live, and we are proud of our record of consistently meeting or exceeding these goals.

Our Procurement and Subcontracts organization works to maximize the use of diverse businesses in a way that enhances our ability to meet the needs of our customers. Our leaders and managers are committed to supplier diversity by staying alert to opportunities that may benefit these diverse businesses, informing our Procurement and Subcontracts organization of those opportunities, and working with our supplier diversity advocates to communicate those opportunities.

As part of our commitment to supplier diversity, we have partnered with MSS Strategic Partners to coordinate and operate our diverse business program. MSS Strategic Partners is committed to helping diverse businesses exceed their goals throughout the nation.

Supplier Diversity Statement

Vision-Value-Commitments to our Supplier Diversity Program.

Bechtel’s Vision, Values and Commitments (VV&Cs) define our culture and our approach to business, and these principles are also reflected in our global supply chain procurement strategies.

We build a high performing supply chain that includes diverse, disadvantaged, small, underrepresented, and local businesses.

We aim to cultivate mutually rewarding partnerships with businesses that provide competitive goods and services while aligning with our VV&Cs.

It is the collaboration between our colleagues, customers and supply chain partners across the enterprise with different backgrounds and services that make it possible for Bechtel to deliver the most successful outcomes for our customers and create a lasting positive impact for the communities we serve.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

  • "Bechtel has a fantastic DBE Program. KERAMIDA is a participant to Bechtel’s Small Business Program , and we have been pleasantly surprised by the degree of involvement from Ms. Felicia Bell, CPCM, Bechtel’s Manager for Supplier Diversity and Workforce Development. Bechtel has high expectations of its Small Business Partners and a detailed process for their participation- but Ms Bell and her team stood behind us all the way to explain the process and guide us . A rather unusual and refreshing way to partner with lead contractors."

  • "Bechtel Diverse Business Program gives me a one stop shop for everything I need. It levels the playing field by giving me the opportunities, what scope of services they are looking to fulfill and who to meet, which allows Cheshil (CCI) to allocate our resources most effectively."
