A key objective of our supplier diversity program is to maximize opportunities for diverse businesses
About Bechtel’s Diverse Business Program
At Bechtel, we recognize the value that a diverse supply chain system brings to our business. Although we are structured around global businesses that serve a broad spectrum of industries, we all share a common supplier diversity goal: to maximize opportunities for diverse businesses. The term supplier diversity includes small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, and HUB Zone small businesses. This also includes Minority Business Enterprises and Women Business Enterprises.
Over the years, we have found that working with a diverse cadre of suppliers and subcontractors strengthens our ability to deliver quality projects, enhances the capabilities of the diverse business community, and fosters a healthy business environment.
Many of our project’s subcontract with diverse businesses and work with their customers to set diverse business goals to achieve. We believe that promoting diversity is good for the economy and the communities where we work and live, and we are proud of our record of consistently meeting or exceeding these goals.
Our Procurement and Subcontracts organization works to maximize the use of diverse businesses in a way that enhances our ability to meet the needs of our customers. Our leaders and managers are committed to supplier diversity by staying alert to opportunities that may benefit these diverse businesses, informing our Procurement and Subcontracts organization of those opportunities, and working with our supplier diversity advocates to communicate those opportunities.
As part of our commitment to supplier diversity, we have partnered with MSS Strategic Partners to coordinate and operate our diverse business program. MSS Strategic Partners is committed to helping diverse businesses exceed their goals throughout the nation.

A legacy of implementing an inclusive and outstanding supplier diversity program.
Bechtel has a legacy of implementing an inclusive and outstanding supplier diversity program that maximizes opportunities for all categories of small businesses. Over the years we have found that working with a diverse cadre of small businesses, including disadvantaged businesses; businesses owned by women, veterans, and service-disabled veterans; and businesses located in Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB Zones), adds tremendous value to our business -- it broadens our knowledge base and our capabilities, enhances our competitiveness, and fosters a healthy business environment.
Many of our project managers work with their customers to set goals to subcontract with these firms. We are proud of our record of consistently meeting or exceeding overall business goals and take pride in the numerous awards and commendations we have received. Promoting diversity in business is good for the economy and for the communities in which we work and live.
Our success with diverse businesses has been the direct result of our commitment to ensuring that the right opportunities are communicated and awarded to them. We fully expect the same level of commitment going forward and confident that we will continue to meet or exceed our diverse business goals.
